Who We Are
Our History
Dr. Stephen W. Brown began his radiologic career in the US Army during World War II. Upon his discharge from the army in December of 1945, Dr. Brown returned home to Augusta to pursue his career in diagnostic radiology. He joined the staff of the Medical College of Georgia under Dr. Palmer Holmes, Professor of Radiology. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Brown and Dr. Holmes branched out into private practice. Dr. Brown continued his private practice in diagnostic radiology. In 1989, Radiology Associates of Augusta joined Stephen W. Brown Radiology Associates and formed Stephen W. Brown & Radiology Associates of Augusta. Current members who were associated with this merger are W.E. Loftis, M.D., William S. Brooks III, M.D. and Marion A. Wier, M.D.
Just a year later, another merger took place between CSRA Radiology, Inc. and Brown & Radiology Associates. Larry J. Wells, D.O. joined Brown & Radiology Associates as a result of the merger.
Augusta Radiology Associates joined Stephen W. Brown & Radiology Associates of Augusta in 1997. Current members who joined with this merger are Warren D. Elam, M.D., Stuart H. Prather III, M.D. and Steven G. Rogers, M.D.
